Frequently Asked Questions

Who can apply to be a keynote speaker or presenter?

We welcome applications from HR professionals, industry leaders, educators, consultants, and anyone with valuable insights and experiences to share that align with our summit's themes of empowerment, balance, and holistic success for Black women in HR.

Will I be compensated for speaking at the summit?

Yes, selected speakers will receive compensation for their time and contributions. Details regarding honorariums and other benefits will be provided upon acceptance of your proposal.

How long should my speech or presentation be?

Keynote speeches should be from 45-60 minutes. Workshop and sessions presentation typically range from 45 to 90 minutes, including time for Q&A. Specific time allocations will be provided upon acceptance and scheduling of your session.

What should I include in my proposal application?

Your proposal should include a clear session title, a concise abstract summarizing your topic, how your topic aligns with the event theme or the suggested topic areas, three to five key takeaways, a brief biography, and a professional headshot. Feel free to include links to any previous presentations or relevant work that supports your application.

Can I submit more than one proposal?

Yes, you are welcome to submit multiple proposals if you have different topics you would like to present. Each proposal will be reviewed independently.

How will I know if my proposal has been accepted?

You will receive a confirmation email once your proposal has been received. Our selection committee will review all submissions and notify you of their decision.

What is the selection process for keynote speakers?

Proposals will be reviewed by our selection committee based on relevance to the summit theme, originality, clarity, and the speaker's expertise and experience.

What is the selection process for session presenters?

Proposals will be reviewed by our selection committee based on relevance to the summit theme, originality, clarity, and the presenters expertise and experience. We aim to curate a diverse and impactful lineup of presenters.

Do I need to provide my own presentation materials?

Yes, speakers and presenters are expected to prepare their own presentation materials, including slides and handouts. We will provide technical support and guidelines to ensure a smooth delivery during the summit.

What technical support will be available for my presentation?

We will provide AV equipment, including microphones, projectors, and screens. Our technical team will be on hand to assist with setup and troubleshoot any issues during your presentation.
