Who does the Access to Education Foundation help?

Stuck in the Middle.

Access to Education's mission is to assist students to pay for college who do not qualify for financial aid and whose parents cannot afford to pay.

Charitable Causes.

Access to Education℠

also contributes to charitable causes.

Why Should You Care?

You should care because California’s economic vitality is closely tied to higher education, but our state lags behind nearly all states in getting high school seniors to college or career/technical schools. Wow! That can’t be good.

Doesn’t the state provide financial aid to the low-income people for school?

People that would normally have access to higher education through financial aid no longer have access because financial aid resources from the state are dwindling due to budget cuts, and receiving financial aid is still very competitive—not every person in need gets the financial resources they need.

And what about those who don't even qualify for financial aid?

They make too much money to be considered “poor” to qualify for financial aid, but not enough to afford to pay for higher education. What do they do? That’s where Access to Education comes in. We are a unique organization designed to provide financial assistance to those seeking access to higher education, but who are "stuck in the middle" because they are told they make too much money to qualify for financial aid and they do not earn enough money to afford a higher education. The scholarships we provide are made possible by individuals like you and businesses like yours, which donate the money needed to provide scholarships to those in need.

What's In It For You?

Your Legacy.

You can choose to fully fund a scholarship and when you do, we will name the scholarship after you. How cool is that? You can also choose to donate to our scholarship

fund. Either way, you'll be making a difference.

Make A Difference.

Human Resources is all about making a difference, but how about making a difference you can see? When you donate to our foundation, you'll see your contribution at work in the life of someone else who aspires to be like you---an HR professional.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

We’ve all heard that education is important and if your mom was anything like mine, higher education was a requirement. My mom knew the importance of higher education to my future. But it is hard to believe that access to higher education has become more difficult even though people believe that it is important. Many don’t yet enjoy the simple pleasure of their choice of career or lifestyle. Why? One reason is because higher education costs have increased by 12 percent in the past two years according to College Board and 62% of undergraduates need financial aid to finish school according to the U.S. Department of Education. Eighty four percent of Californians say that affording college is a problem for students today, according to Public Policy Institute of California.
